Albus Severus Potter

Albus Severus Potter is Harry Potter’s younger son. He is the primary protagonist in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and is a fascinating but troubled adolescent attempting to find his way in the shadow of his father, Harry Potter. The fact that he was named after Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape, together with the fact that he was born to his parents, naturally generates several expectations. But, Albus does not wish to concentrate on any of these, and beginning with his friendship with Scorpius Malfoy and his sorting into Slytherin, he makes several unexpected decisions. He also steals the Time-Turner from the Ministry with Scorpius and Delphi to go back in time and save Cedric Diggory, producing many complications. Eventually, he aids in resolving all the issues, makes peace with Harry regarding the heritage, and forms a connection.

Scorpius Malfoy

Draco Malfoy and Astoria Malfoy are the parents of Scorpius Malfoy. He is a prominent protagonist in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” Unfortunately, he is a very talkative and energetic young man whose genuine parentage is the subject of countless jokes and speculations. Numerous individuals claim that he is Voldemort’s offspring. But Albus disproves this rumor and becomes his friend. Scorpius, like Albus, is a member of Slytherin, and the two become the best of friends. Scorpius’ mother, Astoria, sadly passes away when he is three years old.

Eventually, Scorpius assists Albus in stealing the Time-Turner, and they both attempt to save Cedric. On their second attempt, Scorpius is confronted with a world ruled by Voldemort alone, as Albus isn’t even born, and Voldemort kills Harry Potter. They eventually rectified the situation. Similarly to Albus, Scorpius has troubles with his father, Draco, and by the end of the play, they attempt to resolve it.

Cedric Diggory

Cedric Diggory was a sixth-year Hogwarts student and champion of the Triwizard Tournament, representing Hogwarts alongside Harry before Peter Pettigrew assassinated him on Voldemort’s instructions. After winning the tournament, Harry and Cedric were teleported by the trophy, a Portkey, and this occurred.

In the plot of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” however, after Amos Diggory requests Harry to use a Time-Turner to travel back in time and save Cedric, Albus, and Scorpius with the aid of Delphi, only hold Cedric. They throw charms and taunt him constantly, thinking he will not survive until the third job. In the first two realities, we only hear of Cedric, who becomes a Death Eater and murders Neville Longbottom in the second. Cedric appears in the play in the third alternative world and saves Albus and Scorpius from Delphi during the Triwizard Tournament job.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter is the protagonist of all Harry Potter books and plays a significant role in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” He is the father of one of the play’s protagonists, Albus Severus Potter. James Sirius Potter and Lily Luna Potter are Harry’s siblings. He is married to Ginny Weasley and has two more children. Harry is the head of the Ministry of Magic’s Magical Law Enforcement. He successfully captures former Death Eater Theodore Nott and confiscates his Time-Turner, which his son Albus uses to alter the history and prevent Cedric Diggory’s death. Harry has a tough time raising his son Albus, and their relationship experiences a great deal of instability until they can strike a cautious equilibrium by the end of the play.

Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger was also one of the most essential characters in the Harry Potter book series, as she was Harry and Ron’s best friend and one of the most intelligent witches of her time. In “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” she is Ron Weasley’s wife and the Minister of Magic. She is a strong and capable minister who is continuously looking for any danger that could threaten the magical realm.

Yet, Hermione is also depicted in two parallel universes inside the play, where she appears to be completely different. In one of the parallel universes, she is unmarried and a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. In the other alternate universe, she leads the resistance rebels battling Voldemort’s Augurey.

Mr. Ron Weasley

Ron Weasley is another central character from the Harry Potter books who plays a vital role in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” He is the husband of Hermione Granger and the father of Rose Granger-Weasley and Hugo Granger-Weasley. In addition, Ron operates Weasley Wizard Wheezes, the joke shop that the Weasley twins and his older brother George built during their time at Hogwarts.

Ron is just as pleasant and witty as in the Harry Potter books. Yet, there are two parallel realities in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in which Ron exists. Ron is married to Padma Patil and has a son named Panju Weasley in the first version. In another, Ron fights alongside Snape and Hermione for the resistance against Voldemort’s army.

Draco Malfoy

In the Harry Potter books, Draco Malfoy was a bully and then a Death Eater like his father, Lucius Malfoy. In “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Draco’s arc is redemptive, and he becomes a somewhat better man. Draco appears to have learned from his errors, as he eventually befriends Harry and loans him the Malfoy family’s Time-Turner to save Albus and Scorpius, even though he is still occasionally quite accusatory toward Harry.

Ginny Potter

Ginny Weasley was formerly an important character in the Harry Potter series. Ginny Potter (née Weasley) is the sports editor of the Daily Prophet in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” She is also Harry Potter’s wife. She is incredibly nice and supportive of Harry despite his flaws. She is essential in bridging the gap between Harry and Draco, resulting in their eventual friendship.

Rose Granger-Weasley

Rose Granger-Weasley is Hermione and Ron’s daughter. She is Albus’s close friend and cousin, but as he befriends Scorpius, their relationship quickly deteriorates. She is delighted to be sorted into the Gryffindor house, much like her parents. However, she does not exist in the various realities created by Albus and Scorpius’ time travel.

James Sirius Potter Jr.

James Sirius Potter is Harry and Ginny’s oldest son. Like his father and mother, he is interested in Quidditch, and he is also quite witty, always taunting and frightening Albus about Hogwarts. As a gift from Harry, he receives the Invisibility Cloak that Harry inherited from his father.

Lord Voldemort

Lord Voldemort, the primary adversary of the Harry Potter book series, was a formidable dark wizard who was feared by nearly everyone in the wizarding world. In a fight at Hogwarts, Harry Potter triumphed over Voldemort. Voldemort makes only a single appearance in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”

This occurs when Harry, Hermione, Draco, Ron, and Ginny, along with Albus and Scorpius, have captured Delphi, but Voldemort’s arrival in Godric’s Hollow is rapidly approaching. This scenario depicts the historically correct version of what transpired on the day Harry’s parents protected him from Voldemort, and he vanished.

Delphi

Delphi is the daughter of Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange, born around the time of the Battle of Hogwarts in the Malfoy Manor. She is a powerful wizard hell-bent on bringing back Lord Voldemort. Under the pretense of Amos’ niece, she befriends Albus and Scorpius, assumes the name Delphi Diggory, and steals the Time-Turner from the Ministry of Magic with them.

She finally reveals her identity and forces them to accompany her back in time to when Voldemort murdered Harry’s parents. Harry and his allies eventually beat her. She is duped by Harry, who disguises himself as Voldemort.

Severus Snape

Severus Snape was the Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. In the wake of Albus Dumbledore’s passing, he also served as the headmaster of Hogwarts. Although he was believed to be in alliance with Voldemort, especially after he murdered Albus Dumbledore, it was later revealed that he had been assisting Dumbledore the entire time and had murdered Dumbledore on the latter’s explicit orders.

Snape is killed after “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” by Voldemort. Severus Snape appears in one of the alternative universes in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” He is an undercover professor at Hogwarts and, together with Ron and Hermione, a member of the resistance against Voldemort.
