JK Rowling – The Ickabog Audiobook Description
In THE ICKABOG, the prosperous kingdom of Cornucopia begins to falter when King Fred the Fearless decides to embark on the Marshlands in the north to fight a creature known as Ickabog. At first, people laughed and said that manga was just a myth, but when one of the king’s friends accidentally shot a police chief in a thick fog, his other friend, Lord Spittleworth, covered up his guilt with this one. Long story. Shuttleworth convinced the king that he had a hand in the fight against the beast and began to maintain fear throughout the kingdom. Fear would lead to high taxes for the army, the loss of the rebels, and the end of Cornucopia’s prosperity. When both children know the magnitude of Spittleworth’s lies, they look for a way to expose him and save the kingdom.

Beginning in 1998 with the publication of her first novel about a young wizard named Harry Potter, JK Rowling embarked on an internationally acclaimed writing career and sense of literature that was unique in the early 21st century. With record sales of each completed episode of Rowling’s seven-part series in 2003, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, more than eight million copies have been sold in the United States alone. As the publishers translated the series into sixty-one languages in two hundred different countries, fans flock around the world to pre-order and collect the remaining books in the series. Watch “Harry Potter” movies, which made Rowling more prosperous than the Queen of England and a worldwide event.
JK Rowling was born in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol, England, on July 31, 1965. She later adopted the middle initial letter K in honor of her favorite grandmother Kathleen. Rowling was educated at the University of Exeter, home to England, France, Portugal, and Scotland. The names E. Nesbit, Paul Gallico, and C. S. Lewis, like his literary influences, the former teacher always knew he could be a writer. As in the famous story, he devised the idea for Harry Potter while riding a train and wrote the first novel while his daughter was asleep. Rowling lived a virtuous life writing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, whose primary purpose was to publish herself, and she never dared to dream of the praise she would receive. Despite the remarkable success of the series, Rowling was rejected by several publishers before accepting a contract from Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom and Scholastic in the United States. Rowling’s other titles in the “Harry Potter” series include Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (American edition; British edition called Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In addition to its popularity, each edition of Rowling has also received critical acclaim. He has been awarded several prestigious literary awards, including the British Book Award for Children’s Book of the Year, the Hugo Award, the Whitbread Award for Best Children’s Book, and several consecutive Smarties Prizes.
Rowling has lived in Scotland with her husband and three children since 2005.
JK Rowling – The Ickabog Audiobook Summary
This fairy tale, which Jk Rowling first wrote to entertain the children of the author JK Rowling, has an excellent reading, but it is darker than you would expect from a strange expedition. Things are light and airy when we meet Fred the Fearless, a king who is not too brave and loves his clothes. His kingdom is so beautiful with joy and abundance everywhere and, above all, the most delicious baked thing imaginable – people, of course, cry with joy when they taste Hopes-of-Heaven cake. If it’s not going well for stupid Fred, you’d expect a hasty solution that would embarrass His Majesty. Enter Lord Spittleworth and Lord Flapoon, the worst friends and royal advisers you can only remember. Some of their lies are still ridiculous, such as the monster expert in Ickabog, who invented them aptly named Professor Fraudysham. But some of their lies and relentless greed have left the kingdom in utter ruin.
JK Rowling – The Ickabog Audiobook Quotes
“Tears can heal a mind, as well as laughter.”
“You may think this strange, but Mrs. Beamish was glad to hear Mr. Dovetail cry because tears can heal a mind, as well as laughter.”
“A volte due persone possono dirsi più cose con uno sguardo che in un’intera vita di parole.”
JK Rowling – The Ickabog Audiobook Reviews
First of all, I have to say that I’m a big Harry Potter fan. Like seven or eight of my siblings, who are a lot of Harry Potter fans, including my dad, mom, and sister. When I saw Ickabog walking in the store, I was so excited that J.K. Rowling was still writing a children’s book! I think it’s even better than the Harry Potter series. It uses the same style as the first, with a strange, magical element, and is sung with suitable lessons about friendship and happiness, but only with dark, murderous, deadly features. An intense activity level and a terrible evil villain will cool your blood and make you feel hated by energy like never before. J.K. Rowlings is good at despising bad guys and hurting those who killed them, but keeping you from the heroes and even the places and creatures in the story is also good. All I can say is that I liked this book. I finished it in less than two days. Two thumbs up! (And who rated Ickabog one star?)
