The Ultimate Harry Potter and Philosophy Audiobook Reviews
Did I read the Harry Potter series?
While reading The Ultimate Harry Potter and the Philosophy: Hogwarts for Muggles, I had to ask myself if I had read the books. Maybe I’m too busy comparing books to movies. (I started reading and finished the series between The Prince of Double Blood and Cinema of Death: Part One) I was probably too busy (between family and work) to appreciate the story for myself. However, I miss many basic themes and concepts embedded in JK’s epic tale. According to editor Gregory Bassham, Harry Potter speaks with:
Love against obsession. Elitism against equality. Redemption and repentance. Femininity. Homosexuality. Eternal life.
I’m sure I missed something, but you understand.
Overall, I know that The Ultimate Harry Potter and Philosophy is a great reader of the HP series. I can’t wait to re-read all seven books with the information I’ve learned from this book. My only complaint is that I consider some of the selected essays to be highly repetitive. Overall, I thank Bassham for showing how the selected themes in the series have evolved. No Harry Potter book is not part of the interview.
